Just to catch you guys up on my HCG Do Over Round–I completed 21 VLCD’s and took a 2 day planned interruption. In hindsight, since it was only going to be 2 days, I should have just kept going on the hCG. My best friend’s husband had a birthday dinner at a restaurant that I’ve been dying to try, so I took my last dose of hCG on Tuesday, had VLCDs on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and went to the birthday dinner on Saturday. Although I had planned to eat Phase 3 type food at the dinner, I ended up having too many glasses of champagne and dessert. After that, I decided to treat Sunday as a mini-load day to prepare for the next round of hCG.
I started my VLCDs on Monday. Monday through Thursday I was not POP. I was craving nuts and ended up eating a couple of handfuls a day. On Friday I accepted an invitation from my sister to come to her house for chili and margaritas–bad idea. Although I went prepared with my version of a “skinny” cocktail, I caved on the chili, cheese, sour cream and yes, cornbread! I didn’t eat that much, but when I got home I was miserable! My stomach was so full I couldn’t even get comfortable in bed. As the kids say, “epic fail!”
Since I’m following Weight Loss Apocalypse I generally stay away from the scale. What I do know is that I lost 15 lbs during the first 21 days (load weight not included), and that my weight before the planned interruption was 176 lbs. On the Saturday morning following my chili binge I was 178.5. So there you have it–my “interruption” caused me to get off track, lose at least a week of progress and left me with a 2.5 lb gain.
I was POP on Saturday and Sunday and today (Monday) my weight is back down to 176. In hindsight I should have just kept going on the hCG even though I new I wouldn’t be purely POP at the birthday party. I think I would have been more likely to make better choices since I knew the hCG was in my system. I got off track and got my head out of the game.
My plan now is to continue using the hCG that I have mixed–that should last for another 14 days. My goal for the 14 days is 10 lbs. Then I’ll take a proper P3 break, be on P4 for three weeks, and then do another 21 day round to lose what I hope is my last 10 lbs. Wish me luck!
