i am on day 23 of phase 2, have only lost 6 #. just found your daily menus though and have renewed optimism. question: should i just keep going in p2 or do i have to restart with p1? i don’t know how long its safe to be that calorie restricted and i am afraid to go back and regain the small amount i have lost.

  2. Toni Post author

Dee, why do you think you’ve only lost 6 pounds. Are you close to goal weight? It’s perfectly acceptable to stop the hCG, do three weeks of Phase 3, and then go back on Phase 2 with your new optimism. I know what you mean by that, because I had to do the same thing.

  3. Sandy

I’m on Phase 2 and day 2 and I’ve lost 7lbs already! But I’m so happy I found your meal plans and recipes because it was going to be hard to keep things exciting with what I had in mind. Thanks for putting this all together! I can’t wait to see how much I lose!

  4. Monica

I’m on day 24 and have lost 13.2. I wanted to lose 20-25 lbs but I only have a week left in the 30 days and am thinking about going an extra week to see if I can get closer to my goal. I recently upped my drops to 15 drop 3x a day, and started 15 min cardio workouts=about 100 cals burned, adding 2 tblespoon of apple cidar vinegar to my water once a day, cutting out beef from my diet, drinking green tea as well. I started this on a day 20 and i’ve only lost .8 since then…. kind of frustrating.

Hi Monica, the weight loss will slow down towards the end of a round, especially when you are close to your goal weight. Also, sometimes your body is losing inches and the scale stops moving. Another thing. Women lose an average of 1/2 pound per day on the protocol. I would recommend, if you’re not hungry to keep going until you lose the 25 pounds.

hi i did hcg once before for 40 days and lost some weight not as much as i wanted .then i took a vacation for two months and gain it all and plus some more back.i started a week ago and lost 4 pound and i was disappointed til i found your website.so i am hoping with your recipe i have a better second week.i still miss the sweet really bad though.any suggestion?

  7. veka

A God send, and just what I’ve been looking for! Thank you, you have made the diet “a bit more spicy”! Why be bland and unhappy when i can eat good food and be healthy!!! Thank you!

  8. Toni Post author

Hi Sue. A few things I want to recommend. #1 Read “Weight Loss Apocalypse.” It’s about not treating the hcg protocol as a diet, but more as a therapy for overcoming poor eating habits for good. #2 I think it’s best to try to kill the sweet cravings. I know, I love sweet too, but if you can satisfy the sweet cravings with apples and strawberries (sprinkled with a little stevia), that would be the best thing to do. #3 I’ve heard a theory recently that if you don’t lose ALL of your abnormal fat, it will be more likely to come back. Try to stay on the protocol or do enough rounds until you get there. Hang in there!

Hello,Today is my first day on phase 1. I am eating food that I would normally never eat. My Dr. has assured me that I will lose all of it on Phase 2. The hand out I am suppose to follow is very strict with food choices. It is Simeon’s protocol. No stevia, no apple cider vinegar, no miracle pasta, no broccoli..ect.
I am taking a spray form of HCG. two times a day and multi vit, b complex, phyllium supplements. Most difficult for me to accept is not to have bowel movements regularly. Could comment on my diffuculties to highlight me please…thanks kindly. S.

  10. Toni Post author

Yes, Sabiha, that is a very strict version of the plan. However, your doctor probably wants to make sure that you don’t have any reason to have difficulty losing. Taking magnesium at night (500 mg) will help with the regular bowel movements.

  11. Parul

    Hello Toni
I am on phase 2 of HCG, Dr Simeon’s Protocol. I am a Vegeterian and have had time looking for Protines. Do you have any Veg. Recipies?
I have completed 26 days of Phase 2 & have only lost 9-1/2 Lbs. I have to go on Apple day every week to see the result…
    any suggestions?

  12. Toni Post author

    Hello Parul,

Sometimes vegetarians have a difficult time on the protocol because it is so hard to get in the proper amount of protein–cottage cheese, eggs, and shakes are the only way I know to get the protein in. By doing this, however, you will lose at a slower rate. I don’t think the apple day is the answer. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to develop many vegetarian recipes that will fit within the rules of P2, except maybe the spinach omelet–you can put other veggies in it too for variety. http://www.hcgdietrecipesmadesimple.com/2012/04/26/egg-white-omelet-with-spinach/

Would you consider eating fish or seafood?

  13. Parul

    Thanks Toni:
I will try your recipe of Spinach eggwhite Omelet today. I was told that we cannot mix the vegetables either..is that true? The Broccoli Slaw Looks so yummy..
Your blog and and Recipes will be a tremandous help. I have always been vegeterian so i am a little hesitant to start Fish or Seafood..
Thank you so kindly Once again & i will keep checking your blog for Advice&Updates.

  14. Toni Post author

I totally understand your hesitance to eat fish or seafood, Parul. No worries with that–I think you should just continue and accept that the weight loss will be a little slower, but it will come off. My controversial (sometimes) opinion about the mixing vegetables is that it does not hurt–as long as it is not an increased amount (about 1 cup total). I have never stalled or gained because of mixing vegetables. My opinion, but you can do what you feel comfortable with.

  15. Erin

Oh this diet is frustrating! This is my 2nd time around. The 1st, epic fail- I had cheez it’s every night at bed. This time, I’m determined to not throw away another $280 (I’m on a dr supervised and prescription tablet.) the cost is outrageous. I did my load days last Monday and Tuesday. I’m only down 2lb. My dr claims 20lb a month loss is realistic. I don’t think so. I’m following the diet very closely, except drinking about 4 diet cokes vs my allowed 2. Some things just aren’t negotiable with me! Well I’m thrilled I found this site. I received my miracle noodles today and omg they are nasty. So, I wish you all the best of luck. I have decided I’d rather workout than do a crazy 500 calorie diet. When I do weights at the gym, I can get away with eating pretty much whatever I want. But….. I have a baby and can’t get to the gym like I’d like to. I’ve walked every night since starting last week. My dr does not allow any exercise except light walking. I hope to gain some strength and inspiration from you guys. And chef, thanks for the great sounding recipes! I sous vide chicken breast and keep that on hand and use the walden farms sauces (sunflower market)- idk what I’d do without my wf products. I just had a cucumber with their blue cheese. much love and lots of fat purging! My last try, my loss was little but I definitely lost inches in my upper thighs. We need a damn support group! I sat and watched my family devour tacos today. That was brutal.

  16. Erin

An apple with Walden farms Carmel sauce really makes this suck a lot less. I’m getting used to the Splenda after taste. My standards of good food are quite low these days. I did have fantastic scallops for dinner tonight. I snuck a little oil. I wasn’t about to ruin $20 worth of scallops due to no oil. There’s a lighter oil at Costco , it’s light evo, grape seed oil and something else. I feel bad now. I wish I could afford lobster for every meal. This would be sooooo much easier.

  17. Toni Post author

Erin, I cannot do that Walden Farms stuff. Glad you like it though (a little). You know what I do? I use Pam coconut oil spray. Or just use coconut oil–lots of people use up to a teaspoon per serving with no adverse affects in Phase 2. You can try it and see what works for you. It’s not about whether an oil is “light” or not–it’s about how the body metabolizes it. I don’t think I’ve had lobster more than once in my life — I definitely haven’t cooked it myself–but I do splurge on Chilean Sea Bass. At 19.95 a pound that’s almost as bad as lobster!

  18. Toni Post author

Erin! I’m still going to try to negotiate with you no matter what you say! LOL! First–Diet Coke is the DEVIL!! That is a direct quote from my BFF who has lost a ton of weight in the last year, and no she didn’t do it with hCG. She’s the one I had cooked all the meals for in my first video. She was a diet-coke-aholic. She stopped drinking it and immediately began to drop the weight. As a test, she started up again–her weight stalled no matter what she did. She was exercising for hours every day! Please try to get off that stuff.

Second–Miracle Noodles–how did you make them? They don’t taste like anything by themselves.

Third–have you read Weight Loss Apocalypse. I’m asking because of the comment you made about watching your family devour tacos…

  19. Tinna Hawkins

    Hello!

I am very excited! I am about to start my HCG diet on Monday! I am an avid cooker and I LOVE good food (the French in me). I was a little concerned with the allowed foods and that the menus would be bland and boring… not anymore!!!! Your recipes look AMAZING! I have a question though (I admit I haven’t looked at ALL your recipes…) Would cilantro be an acceptable herb to use for flavoring?

  20. Toni Post author

Hi Tinna! It is exciting! I use cilantro all the time. The hCG protocol doesn’t say so, but I few all herbs as FREE foods and it hasn’t hurt me one bit!

  21. Erin

Hi Toni: I would love to be free of diet coke but I can’t find a substitute. But, if there’s a possibility of weight loss- I will try tea or something. Eeeeew the noodles were cooked per package and put with the wf ginger seasame dressing. I honestly couldn’t do this diet without wf. I think I’m so used to fake sweetener (diet coke) the Splenda after taste doesn’t bother me too much. I found a fabulous blend last night, wf blue cheese with tapatio hot sauce. It got rid of the sweet and added lots of flavor. I didn’t feel cheated at all. I haven’t read that. Oh this left over baby weight is driving me insane! It must go.

  22. Toni Post author

What about sparkling mineral water with caramel flavoring or sugar free syrup to substitute for the diet coke?

  23. Dana

Hey Toni! Today is my first day of HCG and I’m surprised to see all these options! I have the same basic list but I see some ingredients in your recipes that aren’t on the list, like egg whites. But all these diet menus are going to be a great help!!

  24. Toni Post author

    Hi Dana,

If you’ve read Dr. Simeon’s original protocol, he does list egg whites as an option for vegetarians.

  25. Erin

Toni: you’re just wonderfully kind. I actually got a bottle of stevia vanila cream and put that in my seltzer water and it’s wonderful. I drink tons of seltzer, so this I might be able to do. I was wondering what everyone does for hcg drops/pills? I read something saying OTC were not strong enough but this $280 a month for pills is crazy. I’m down 5 lb at one week in.

  26. Toni Post author

Thanks, Erin. Putting flavoring in my water helps me too. I barely get down 32 oz a day, so I need help. $280 a month is CRAZY! I’ve had the best luck with pharmaceutical. Not nearly that much. I’ll email you some info. BTW, you’re doing great!

  27. Toni Post author

I know what you mean, Erin. I was seeing a naturopathic doctor in 2009 for hormone regulation and she told me about the hCG Protocol. Wanted to know if I’d be a guinea pig. I said sure, then she told me it would be $900 for a 21 day plan!!! I told her I’d have to wait on that–because I had already given them several hundred for the hormone balancing. I started researching the hcg protocol and was THRILLED when I discovered Mamaclok’s videos about DIY hcg. Another friend of mine was told it would be $2400 by one local physician. RIP OFF!

  28. Erin

My dr.’s office is very fancy, marble floors, fountains, etc., so I know that’s why her prices are so high. I’ve been looking online but I can’t tell whose shady and whose not. My pills from the dr are 300 iu and I’ve seen much higher iu #’s online.

  29. Toni Post author

I don’t know if I can properly explain iu’s Erin, but I’ll try. So if I’m doing injections and I use 5000 iu, I may dose at 125 ml once a day. But if I use 2000 iu, I may dose at 250 iu a day. You have to look at how many iu’s, how it’s mixed and how it’s dosed to see how much hcg you’re getting. If you’re taking pills I don’t know how to calculate that. Reliable RX is reliable, Colin Watson (HCGBodyforLife) is reliable.

  30. Jenn

My husband and I are both about to start this program. I’m wondering about the drops versus the injections. You mention that you give yourself one injection a day. Are the drops reliable too ad where would you suggest to order them from?
    Thanks

  31. Toni Post author

For a foolproof hcg protocol, I highly suggest real hcg administered by injection or orally. You have to be careful with homeopathic hcg because there is no way to know whether they are going to be effective before you buy them. There are links in my HCG Supplies page for homeopathic at MYHCGPlus and DIYHCG, which I believe to be reputable sources for homeopathic hcg.

  32. Elaine

HI TO ALL, I HAVE BEEN BUYIN MU HCG VIALS(FOR INJECTION) FROM A WEBSITE CALLED ALLDAYCHEMIST.COM IT ONLY COST AROUND 15 DOLLARS PER VIAL OF 2000 HCG.I WOULD NEVER SPEND 100’S ON PAYIN SOME DR. TO TELL ME WHAT I CAN READ O DR. SIMEONS PROTOCOL, THEY DONT EVEN INJECT YOU! THEY ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE, YOU CAN DO THIS ON YOUR OWN AND WITH ONLINE SUPPORT SITES LIKE THIS ONE. I PERSONALLY GOT TO MEET COLIN WATSON AND I EVEN HAVE HIS CEL NUMBER AND I CALL HIM OR TEXT HIM NOW AND THEN, HE IS ALWAYS THERE TO ASSIST. I ALSO USE HCGDIETFORUM ONLINE FOR SUPPORT, AND I JUST DISCOVERED THIS WEBSITE FOR RECIPES AND EXTRA MOTIVATION, THATS ALL WE NEED! WE DONT NEED THE DOCTORS, UNLESS, OF COURSE YOU HAVE SOME KIND OF MEDICAL CONDITION, I AM 53 YEARS OLD PERIMENOPAUSEAL AND INJECTING MYSELF WITH SUCCESS ON THIS DIET, DID IT 2 AND A HALF YEARS AGO, LOST WEIGHT, BUT REGAINED A YEAR AN A HALF LATER BECAUSE OF ADDICTION WITH FOOD. BUT KNOW IAM MORE SERIOUS AND DOING PHASE 3 LIKE DR. SAYS TO DO, I NEVER DID, I WENT STRAIGHT FROM PHASE 1 TO 4. BIG MISTAKE, YOU NEED TO DO PHASE 3 FOR AT LEAST 2 OR3 WEEKS MINIMUM. THANKS FOR THIS WEBSITE . WISH YOU ALL THE BEST, THIS DIET WORKS!! : )

  33. Toni Post author

Elaine, that’s exactly how I gained some of my weight back! I got down to my all time low goal weight one day and then went on a week long trip the next day, not adhering to Phase 3. It was all downhill from there! Support is the best thing for this Protocol. We have to be here for each other. There’s no way I would have made it otherwise, and that’s why I’m trying to give back what I can.

  34. sabiha

    Hello All,
I am very happy with my results that I wanted to share with you..Since April 24th I have lost 12 pounds with 3 apple days. It was a bit of slow one but for my frame I have changed fro size 12 to size 8. I have done with with dr, assistance. Only paid $499(CAN) for spray.I read a lot about to protocol and am very strict with Simeons recommended food list. I am sure if we want to make a goal we CAN do it. It is a matter of listening to your own body to understand which food can be more friendly to work for you, bit more salt and oranges sent me to an apple day. Simeon’s protocol has details for many questions…Good luck to everyone…s.a.

  35. Toni Post author

Thanks for your comment and sharing your success, Sabiha. I never heard of a spray form of hCG. Going from a 12 to an 8 in less than a month is AMAZING!

  36. Terri

Hi. What a wonderful informative web site. My husband and I are going to do this menu together but he is alergic to shellfish what would you recomend?

  37. Toni Post author

Hi Terri, No worries on that. He can still eat chicken, fish, and beef. My fav white fish is Chilean Sea Bass.

  38. Eileen

Dee, just found your website today! Great recipes, and I LOVE the menu planners! This is my second round of HHCG … first time I lost 37 pounds in 40 days, but gained 20 back. Now I am on day 12 and I have lost almost 15 pounds already! Hubby is trying to follow what I’m eating (not as strict because he is not taking HCG) and lost about 8 pounds in a week. Yipee!

  39. LORI

THANKS! FOR ALL THE NEW IDEAS, AND JUST FOR DOING THIS SO SOMEONE LIKE ME JUST STARTING, CAN SEE HOW OTHERS ARE DOING. THANKS
